When I talk to small businesses about their Apple tech and how it’s used, they often say they have problems with keeping track of things. My response is always: Having a solid tech foundation will help.

If you're running a business, you know running a business is actually really hard.
You've got so many hats you have to wear, so many things you have to deal with, and you're effectively the CEO, the CTO, the COO, and all of these other execs, right?
In one person.
So anything that comes along that makes your life easier is always going to be a good thing.
That thing should be the foundation of your company, and the foundation being obviously money, stock, if that's what you do, information if you're a coach, consultant.
Those foundations are really, really important, but the one thing that often gets overlooked coming from my point of view, and I see this, I've seen it thousands of times, even when I had a job when I worked for a company, the people at the top really didn't give a shit about the tech guys, and they're usually in the basement, right?
I mean, look at the IT crowd, always in the basement.
That program, the IT crowd, is exactly what it's like.
No one really cares about IT, unless the shit hits the fan, and then they want everything working.
Well, if that's the case, then the foundation of your business should also include the IT department, your tech, the IT, the tech that you use.
And with that foundation, there's lots of facets to it.
There's the hardware, and there's the software, there's the laptops, and there's phones.
There's how you communicate with your clients.
That in itself should be quite important, because if any part of that goes, you have to call the IT guy and try to get him to fix it.
And often, we're busy, because we get so many calls from people that we need to work for a lot of people.
So having the right foundation and having the right apps and the right things running your business is paramount.
So what do you need in the IT world?
What's the foundation?
Well, you need email, you need a telephone, you need a laptop, you need the software, which is a CRM, which is one of the most important things that you need in business to keep track of your projects, to keep track of your clients.
Basically, CRM is just stupidly important.
Task managers, calendars, how all these things sync.
So having that foundation and making sure it works, there's less calls to people like me, and there's more work for you and less time that you have to spend trying to fix this crap and actually more time to help your clients.
Hopefully, that helps.
If you need any help with anything, CRM, I deal with Daylight, which is an Apple-centric CRM, which is amazing.
