It’s great to having a comfort zone. But in a business having that place could be costly. Getting out of that zone should be your number one objective.

Having comfort zones is a really good thing. Having comfort clothes, comfort food, this is my comfortable jumper. It's falling apart, but I love it because it's comfortable. It's my comfort zone.
I'm actually helping my friend around her place. So I thought I'd wear my comfortable comfort zone jumper, I guess, if you want to call it.
So comfort zones, I understand and I realise it. But people in businesses often forget that comfort zones when it comes to running of their business isn't always a good idea.
They've probably started their business years ago. They've been told how to use a specific piece of software to running of their business.
Now there's a difference, a small cravat to this, there's a difference between running of your business, having tools to run your business and having tools to do your work.
I'm not talking about work tools like an architect needs specialist, architect tools, architect tools, designer needs, photoshop, whatever. Those are work tools.
I'm talking about the running of your business, how you communicate within the team, how you communicate sometimes with your clients, how running of your business, how you run your business, where your data is held, etc. That running of your business type tools is something that I found many businesses lack proper tools to do that part of their business.
And usually it comes down to comfort zones and they have to get out, you have to get out of that comfort zone, because more often than not what I found is that they are in business for many years or even a few years and they've been told by their friends or so on to use this specific tool.
Now their friends or their consultant or whatever have no idea how their business is run and what tools they actually need. So they get stuck in this hamster wheel of using that same tool, even though they're fed up with it and they're annoyed with it, licensing is either expensive or annoying.
Setting up new accounts is really annoying when they have new staff coming in, but they're stuck in that comfort zone. Well it works so I can't be bothered to do it.
Now trying to convince those companies is so so difficult because they're not open to realise that there is actually a better way of doing it.
And the reason is because they don't really want to deal with it. They want to do their work, they want to use their work tools. They're not interested in, they are interested in they want to do it, but they just don't want to what they see as waste their time to find out that there is another way to run their business, to put their files, to share their emails, to communicate with their clients and so on.
So if you are running a small business, get out of that comfort zone of your business software, because there are better tools out there and I can show you a million and one of them.
A lot of people just use the tools that are just not right for them. For instance I'm using a tool that's five years old, it's not a comfort zone thing, it works. It's a five-year-old iPhone, it works.
So once you have that tool that works for you then you can use it forever and ever, but just get out of that comfort zone.
