Making daily blogs or videos is really easy when you realise that your life is essentially a show about nothing and people love to know more about ‘you’.

Before I start today's topic, I just want to give you some advice.
As you know, my eyes have been annoying me for the past week or so and I couldn't figure out what it was. And someone mentioned something to me and now I feel like an absolute idiot.
So the advice is never put mosquito repellent on your dog, pet him and then rub your eyes because that's what you're going to get. You're going to feel stupid when someone tells you.
Unbelievable!
So that's why. So now it's kind of cleared up but I now have or have had a summer cold and that's irritating in itself.
So anyway, today I received an awesome email and I do receive emails pretty much every day which I can't imagine.
I can't imagine people liking my videos but it's just great when you get feedback that people say that they like the videos. And this email that I received today is from Dinos.
Now he's on the Basecamp community that I'm on. That's how he knows me I think but he's been watching my videos for a while and he sent me an email today saying that he tried to do daily blogs and daily videos but he finds it to be hard.
Now bear in mind I've been making videos for three days. I'm quite comfortable being in front of the camera. I always have been actually. It was kind of forced upon me by my father because he loved taking photos and stuff.
So I'm okay being in front of the camera.
In fact in 1999, 2000, I bought my first camera and I was always videoing and actually doing vlogs back then going back going to Amsterdam and doing vlogs back then.
So I've been comfortable. So I understand why people say it's difficult but a lot of people in Dinos were saying finding topics to talk about. What topics?
Well the topics for me is tech minimalism, Apple stuff, tech in general but I do put a personal put some personal stuff in there as well. Like the mosquito spray going to buy my blazer.
So I want to kind of mix and match. But the point is your life is basically a show. You might think it's a show about nothing, the whole Seinfeld thing right? A show about nothing.
But even that show they created a whole show effectively based on nothing, but it wasn't nothing, it was stuff that they were doing day to day.
You and I, you do stuff every day and it's relevant either to your work or to you personally.
So you can easily make videos about what you would say nothing and still get viewership because people are interested in you, especially for me. I’m making these videos to be top of mind for people to understand what I do and also to see the human side of me as well.
And the funny thing is, the more videos I make and being more consistent with it as well and that's really important is that people realise that you're consistent, people know who you are and they hire you for more than just what you do, what you advertise.
So I advertise Mac stuff, I advertise, you know, I'm the MacJunky, I'm the Tech Minimalist, but people have hired me to help them set up their equipment, set up their videos, set up how do I colour grade even though it's black and white, how do I grade it, how do I…
So they hire me for different things because they've watched my videos, but because that the videos are about quote unquote nothing, it's about me and what I do, people still like that nothing, right?
So your life is a show whether you believe it or not and people are interested in shows that are personal, personal, informational and you know, kind of fun, I don't do fun videos, I do smile and laugh occasionally.
But people are genuinely interested in it and I think especially message to Dinos and everyone else out there who wants to make a video, people don't care necessarily about the quality.
If you think about my videos I have a certain look but you know some are overexposed, some are underexposed.
The one thing that I do care about and do highly recommend is getting a good microphone, just hit me up if you want to know what mic to use, but good audio is very important.
Good video is fine but it doesn't have to be perfect, you're not a music, you're not a studio, you're not making a rock album, you're not, yeah you're not a TV studio so don't try to do it.
The topics come from your own life, come from your experience, whether it's to do with your work or your personal, so yeah just start making videos, blog posts about your nothing.
‘A show about nothing’, it did very well. Seinfeld is kind of my bible effectively.
Anyway hopefully that helps.
Dinos hit me up if you want any help.
Ayone else if you want help, hit me up and I'll see you next time.
