Basecamp is the perfect business foundation app. I call it the best ‘junk draw’ for a business, because everyone knows exactly where it is and what’s in it.

I want to talk about Basecamp and how I believe Basecamp is the ultimate junk
00:00 --> 00:04

drawer. Now we all have junk drawers in our houses, whether it's in a kitchen,
00:04 --> 00:08

some people even have junk rooms and junk closets,
00:08 --> 00:12

but the junk drawer is something everyone has.
00:12 --> 00:15

And we all understand what's in that junk drawer.
00:15 --> 00:19

Everyone has their individual things that are in that junk drawer,
00:19 --> 00:23

whether it's a pair of scissors, a single paperclip, some rubber bands,
00:23 --> 00:28

it could be absolutely anything in that one place. So in a household,
00:28 --> 00:32

when someone says, Oh, it's in that junk drawer,
00:32 --> 00:34

they literally know where that junk drawer is. So they go there and get it.
00:34 --> 00:38

Basecamp is that for a business. So instead of saying, where is that file?
00:38 --> 00:43

What are we doing with this project? Where are we with this project?
00:43 --> 00:48

Has, has Alice in accounting got that task that needs to be done?
00:48 --> 00:54

No one has to ask these questions. It's actually all in that junk drawer,
00:55 --> 00:59

which is Basecamp for your business.
00:59 --> 01:02

The junk drawer for your business is Basecamp.
01:02 --> 01:04

And I'm still amazed by many companies who like yesterday,
01:04 --> 01:09

they just get,
01:09 --> 01:10

I made a video yesterday about people just getting apps,
01:10 --> 01:13

not knowing what they're doing and not being able to scale. Well,
01:13 --> 01:17

having a foundation and having that junk drawer app effectively,
01:17 --> 01:22

you can scale as much as you want because it's all in one place.
01:22 --> 01:27

You don't have to, firstly,
01:27 --> 01:30

you don't have to pay for lots of different apps. It's all in one.
01:30 --> 01:34

So the communication is one or your documents is one is in one.
01:34 --> 01:38

Absolutely everything is in that one place,
01:38 --> 01:40

one junk drawer for your business.
01:40 --> 01:44

And that is effectively Basecamp. Now there are other, um,
01:44 --> 01:48

um, PM tools.
01:48 --> 01:50

I wouldn't call Basecamp necessarily a project management tool,
01:50 --> 01:53

although that's what it is.
01:53 --> 01:54

I actually prefer to call it a junk drawer app,
01:54 --> 01:58

meaning it does everything for you. And it truly does.
01:58 --> 02:01

Whereas all these other apps actually don't,
02:01 --> 02:03

they're great at project management, but they're not great at, um,
02:03 --> 02:07

everything else like communication. Cause you'll need to use Slack. Well,
02:07 --> 02:11

Basecamp has that covered as well.
02:11 --> 02:14

I just wanted to bring that to your attention. If you are using Basecamp,
02:14 --> 02:18

you need help. Let me know. I'll be able to help you.
02:18 --> 02:21

We can talk about how I use it as well. Cause I even use it as a CRM.
02:21 --> 02:26

Why use a CRM app when you could actually use Basecamp?
02:26 --> 02:30

Some people do need CRMs, but if you're working on your own, um,
02:30 --> 02:34

using Basecamp is, it's kind of perfect. Anyway,
02:34 --> 02:37

it's raining all day.
02:37 --> 02:40

And I got this break to make this video cause I don't want to be in the car,
02:40 --> 02:44

making a video. Anyway, I'm going to go talk to you soon. Ciao.
02:44 --> 02:48
